[Women's Basketball] Women's Basketball Muzzle Bulldogs in Conference Rivalry 70-60

0 19

DAYTON, Tenn. – A strong start made all the difference in Tuesday night's Appalachian Athletic Conference rivalry game between the 13th-ranked Bryan College women's basketball team and visiting Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Lions clawed their way out in front 18-8 before finishing the opening period in front 22-13. Bryan never allowed Tennessee Wesleyan to gain an advantage in the final three periods despite outscoring the Bulldogs by just one point over that stretch of time. The Lions tacked on a one-point edge in the second quarter for a 34-24 lead at the break. Bryan maintained a 10-point lead at the closing of the third frame and again in the fourth to capture the 70-60 victory, marking their 25th consecutive win. The Lions had clinched their second straight AAC regular-season championship over the weekend, but that wasn't enough for Bryan as they are in search of a perfect conference record. With only two more games before the end of the regular-season, and both AAC contests, the Lions are currently 24-0 in conference play and 26-1 overall. Tennessee Wesleyan fell to 16-8 in the AAC and 18-8 overall.
