[Football] 4A Player of the Year Drake Miller Signs with GV Football

Des Moines, IA – Head Coach Mike Woodley is pleased to announce the signing of 4A Player of the Year Drake Miller to the 2019 Grand View football roster.

The 6'0, 195-pound, left-handed quarterback is a product of Fort Dodge Senior High School out of Fort Dodge, IA. Miller led his team as a captain his senior year to the State Playoff Quarterfinals and a record of 7-3. Following his senior season, he was named 1st Team 4A All-State by the Des Moines Register, 1st Team All-District, and 1st Team All-State Iowa by Print Sports Writers.

"Miller headlines a great 2019 class that we are putting together. He checks all of the boxes when you start to identify the types of players you want in your program - great person, outstanding student, tremendous player, winner, intangibles, and upbringing in athletics," said Woodley.  

Miller threw 2,972 yards his senior season, recording a completion percentage of 61.0. Miller is consistent, recording 60.2 and 62.5 completion percentages his junior and sophomore seasons as well. He threw 29 touchdowns in the 2018 season, the longest being 80-yards.
