[Men's Basketball] Mechanics Top Christendom for Basketball Win

Williamson trailed by six point at halftime to Christendom College on Saturday before rallying in the second half to take come away with a 73-72 win over the Crusaders

Despite being down by six at half and only having six players, Williamson managed to rally in the second half and took and eight point lead with four minutes to go.  Christendom however kept pecking away at the lead and got it down to two points with 32 second left.  Williamson then used all 29 seconds of the shot clock before getting a shot.  Christendom controlled the loose ball and managed to get a half-court shot off however it was off the mark and the Mechanics were able to come away with the win. 

Nazhir Goldson led Williamson with a career high 29 points, which included five three-point buckets.  Ryan Tobin (SR/Newtown Square, PA) had another big game for the Mechanics, as he added 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.  Gus Pagan (SR/Prospect Park, PA) had his best game of the year, as his clutch second half shooting started the Mechanics rally.  He finished with 18 points and five assists. 

Though Williamson was out-rebounded, 38-23, a key to their victory was they committed a season low seven turnovers.  They also had a season high seven steals. 

Next up the Mechanics face a daunting task, aas they will take on NCAA Division II powerhouse West Chester University on the road this coming Wednesday.
