[Bowling] Zach Mitchell earns All-Tournament at National Team Match Games

Fair View Heights, IL- The Grand View University bowling teams traveled to Fair View Heights, IL. to compete in the annual National Team Match Games on November 24th-25th. Both teams having a successful weekend with the women finishing third and the men finishing fourth.

The women finished third out of 18 teams. Grand View had to battle back Sunday starting in 8th after the 30 individual games on Saturday and shoot a 20 game baker set of 3809. The team averaged 190.4 to earn 3rd place with only four pins separating them from finishing second. In the first day of competition, individual games were led by Amanda Duplan with a 186.5 six game average, Makayla Ericksen 183 six game average, Styve Smedshammer  176.8 six game average.  Hanna Duver 168.5 six game average, Ariel Engle five game average 160.9, and Hope Mozingo contributing a 210 game and Jess Sellers subbing in.  The women had a combined two day average of 182.

The Grand View men also had a great tournament finishing fourth out of 28 teams. The men bowled well on Saturday in the individual games with Zach Mitchell leading the team with a 219.6 six game average, Sam Cantrell 212.4 six game average, Adam Morse 192.4 six game average and a high game of 268. Tanner Tynda 190 six game average. Also contributing was Brandon Jerome two game average of 198.5. Jordan Rodriguez two game average of 172.8 and Tyler Vande Lune two game average of 169.5,  subbing in was Aaron Yehudah. 

Individual team average was 198.8. The men started Sunday baker play in fourth and bowled well most of the day, averaging 195 in bakers but couldn't gain any pins to advance. The men had a combined two day average of 197.2. 

Key Players: Zach Mitchell finished fourth in individual games and made All-Tournament Team.
