[Football] Jayvion Daniels earns first career MSFA honor
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Setting a new Olivet Nazarene University single-game rushing record and tying the rushing touchdown record helped propel Jayvion Daniels to his first career Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week honor. Daniels and the Tigers downed MSFA rival University of St. Francis (Ill.) 42-28 in front of a packed house at Ward Field.
On the week, Daniels rushed for 274 yards on 26 carries, breaking a 32-year old record held by Greg Huff from the 1986 season. Daniels finished the game averaging 10.5 yards per carry, with the longest being 37 yards. Daniels was nearly unstoppable, crossing the goal line four times to tie the Tiger's rushing touchdown record.
