Ex community college baseball coaches accused of misconduct
CENTERVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Two former baseball coaches at an Iowa community college are being accused of misconduct by former players, but the school says the coaches left because their contracts weren't renewed.
The Daily Iowegian reports two former players at Indian Hills Community College say former head coach Cam Walker and assistant coach Steve Kletke provided false identities to foreign students so they could work to raise money for the team.
The foreign players weren't allowed to work under the terms of their student visas.
The players also said the coaches used physical punishment at practice for violations of team rules.
Indian Hills officials declined to comment to the newspaper, and both coaches declined to be interviewed.
