Diamondbacks at Reds, Game Two - Preview and Lineups
Matt Harvey...still a Red.
Matt Harvey is still on the Cincinnati Reds, and is still a member of their 27 man rotation. Despite rumblings and grumblings that he’d surely be traded by the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline, he’s still around, and remains so despite the ability to still be traded during this particular August waiver-trade period.
Perhaps that’s due to the Reds having an asking price for Harvey that’s inflated. Perhaps it’s due to Harvey having allowed 15 ER in his last 12.2 IP, with just 8 K and 4 BB in that time - along with 6 dingers surrendered. Either way, he’s still set to toe the rubber for the Reds instead of Cody Reed, Lucas Sims, Matt Wisler, and Jose Lopez, and will do so on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second game of the homestand.
Arizona will counter with lefty Robbie Ray, last year’s NL leader in K/9 who was overdrafted that this particular author in all fantasy baseball leagues given the injury issues he has faced so far this season, but that’s another story.
First pitch is set for 6:40 PM ET, a full half-hour earlier than what you’re used to seeing from home games in GABP, so plan accordingly.
