Queensbury wins first state baseball title

Jack Sylvia pitched a five-hitter Saturday and Queensbury won its first baseball state championship with a 5-1 victory over Lakeland in the Class A final at NYSEG Stadium.
Sylvia, following Noah Edwards' complete-game effort in Friday's semifinals, striking out five in going the distance.
Lakeland starter Evan Berta, a left-hander, was cruising, needing just 29 pitches to get through three innings, before Queensbury erupted in the fourth.
Sylvia tied the game with a two-out single to center. After Mike Guido walked, Brendan Scott hit a bases-loaded triple to right center to make it 4-1. Berta threw 32 pitches in the inning
