Reds announce Spring Training invitees
This week features the shortest days of the calendar year, and there's snow in the forecast. Baseball, it would seem, is light years away, especially with the Cincinnati Reds having played the quiet game so far this offseason. Today, though, the club announced that 55 of their rostered players and non-rostered farmhands will be invited to Spring Training come February, with a few interesting names of note. Nick Senzel highlights the non-roster invitees (though for service time concerns there's little chance he'll make the team from day one), with relievers Jimmy Herget, Barrett Astin, and Tanner Rainey also set to be in camp with a chance to make the squad for Opening Day.
