[Women's Golf] Tigers place fourth at ONU Fall Invite

ST. ANNE, Ill. — Two Tigers finished in the top 10 to lead the way for the Tigers, Mackenzie Mehaffey (JR/Winchester, Ind.) and Mackenzie Fisk, at the Olivet Nazarene University Fall Invite. They helped propel Olivet to a fourth-place finish, only three strokes back of third. The Tigers along with five other teams played in some of the best conditions and temperatures they will all season.

A total of 46 golfers played in the 36-hole, two-day event at the par-72, 5,943-yard course, Kankakee Elks Country Club. ONU finished fourth with a team score of 675 (341-334, +99). William Penn University (Iowa) won the event with a score of 655 (329-326, +79). Bellevue University (Neb.) shot a score of 661 (321-340, +85) to finish second. Bethel College (Ind.) came in third with a score of 672 (342-330, +96). ONU's second team finished sixth with a team score of 727 (368-359, +151).

The Tigers had four golfers in the top 20. Mackenzie Mehaffey finished tied for eighth with a 166 (85-81, +22). Mackenzie Fisk led the way for the Tigers and came in 10th with a 167 (87-80, +23). Stephanie Eby (JR/Lemont, Ill.) finished tied for 16th, shooting a 171 (83-88, +27) and her teammate Julie Hogan (SR/Pontiac, Ill.) also shot 171 (86-85, +27). Jessica Ackman (JR/Beecher, Ill.) finished tied for 22nd with a 173 (89-84, +29).

For the second set of Tigers, Bailey Fleming (JR/Greenfield, Ind.) led the way with a 179 (93-86, +35). Jacqueline Donahue (SO/Lafayette, Ind.) finished tied for 29th with a two-day score of 186 (92-94, +42). Madeline Ogden (FR/McHenry, Ill.) finished 32nd with a 187 (91-96, +43) and Hannah Odgen came in 33rd with a 188 (95-93, +44).

ONU will play next weekend in the Bethel College (Ind.) Battle at Blackthorn Course on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16.
