Soccer Competes At Bacone

For the Friends University Women's soccer team the trip to Muskogee, OK to play Bacone College on Tuesday, September 3 didn't turn out as the Falcons had hoped. Bacone defeated Friends University 3-1.

It was a difficult game for Friends University in that opportunities to score did not occur with great frequency. The Falcon offense could not find a consistent grove throughout the game. The goal scored by Friends University was courtesy of a penalty kick by freshman forward Emma Cuda.

The loss places the Falcon record at 1-1 on the season. The program will travel to Iowa on September 6 to play William Penn University. The following day while in Iowa the Falcons will play Benedictine College.

The men's game was a display of offensive firepower as Friends University defeated Bacone College 7-1.

The Falcons held a 2-0 halftime lead as Danny Littler and Andreas Tschongarow provided the offensive spark.

Determined to continue the attack Tachongarow scored his second goal of the game in the second half. Konstantin Olie, Yannish Meanger, and Victor Coriliano contributed to the scoring while Lucas Coelho scored on a penalty kick to provide the final margin of victory.

The men will now turn their attention to a series of games in Iowa on September 6 and 7. The Falcons will play William Penn on Friday and Midland University on Saturday.

Both men and women will return for their first home game of the season on September 10 when the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma comes to Adair-Austin stadium.
