CHICAGO – Senior linebacker Joey Markasovic (New Lenox, Ill./Providence Catholic) was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for No. 18 Saint Xavier University football (3-2, 1-0 MSFA Midwest) when the awards were announced by the league office Monday afternoon. It's the fifth time that Markasovic has won MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Year for SXU.
