[Softball] Summers Tosses Shutout; No. 19 SXU Splits DH in Michigan

Brighton, Mich. – Sophomore pitcher Laila Summers (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) tossed her first career shutout and posted three strikeouts in a 2-0 win over Oakland City University (Ind.) for the No. 19 Saint Xavier University softball team (3-1, 0-0 CCAC), however the Cougars lost to Lawrence Tech University (Mich.), 2-1, in their second game of the day. Summers allowed just two base hits and walked three batters in the 7.0 inning win to improve her record to 2-0 on the young season.
