The history of Club Sport Emelec was born out of an Empresa Electrica del Ecuador (Electric Company of Ecuador) assembly which was convened by George Capwell on April 28, 1929.
Capwell was a North American, he came to Guayaquil as an executive of the Electric Company. He founded one of the most popular entities of the country. This man founded the club with the spirit of creating a baseball and boxing institution, since at that time these were the only two sports which were played....
