In another attempt to avoid falling in another series, the Royals will send the struggling Jason Hammel to the mound. He’ll face young Cardinals right-hander Luke Weaver.

Perhaps the ugliest thing to happen in this contest already occurred before it even started. Ryan Goins is batting behind Jon Jay as the Royals #2 hitter. Bad lineup in the AL, even worse in the NL.
