Play-Off Bound?
The senior county 1st team travel to ‘The Edge’ at Leeds University today still in with a chance of making the top two in Division 1 North who will go forward to the play-offs to gain promotion into the Championship. Staffordshire have withdrawn from the final weekend so their results will be expunged from the table for the purposes of promotion and relegation which leaves the table looking:-
| Teams | Pts | P | W | L | F | A |
| Oxfordshire | 27 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 27 | 17 |
| Yorkshire 3 | 21 | 4 | 1 | 3 | 21 | 23 |
| Lothian | 20 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 20 | 24 |
| Lanarkshire | 19 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 19 | 14 |
| Northumberland | 17 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 17 | 16 |
| Warwickshire 2 | 16 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 16 | 17 |
| Nottinghamshire 2 | 12 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 12 | 21 |
| Staffordshire | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
The three teams leading the revised table only have two games remaining and North are playing two of them in Oxfordshire and Yorkshire 3. Their other fixture is against Notts 2 and a strong result there could really help them get into the mix. Unbeaten Lanarkshire are also in with a chance of catching the current leaders, North lost to them 6-5 at the second weekend and they also have to play Oxfordshire. North open against Notts 2 this morning followed by Oxfordshire this afternoon and then Yorkshire 3 in their final match tomorrow morning from 10.00 a.m.
The second team are performing at Tyneside BC today against Lancashire 4 from 11.00 a.m. and Notts 3 from approximately 2.30 p.m. The overall match programme for Division 3 North has been decimated with Lincolnshire 2 already withdrawn from the season and Staffordshire 3 and Derbyshire 3 unable to field teams for the final weekend. This means North are safe from relegation regardless of the results today.
