pAt the January Race Committee meeting, we discussed the importance of continued education within Motorsport Marshalling. As part of that conversation, the Marshal Manual has been shared and remains a key resource for both new and experienced marshals./p

pWe’re pleased to confirm several upcoming training dates:/p
ul li pstrongBEMC/strong – May 9 amp; 10/p /li li pstrongCASC/strong – June 27 amp; 28 em(tentative)/em/p /li li pstrongBARC/strong – July 25 amp; 26/p /li li pstrongBEMC/strong – September 19 amp; 20/p /li/ul
pEach school consists of:/p
ul li pstrongDay 1:/strong Classroom learning/p /li li pstrongDay 2:/strong Trackside, hands-on training/p /li/ul
pThese schools are open to new marshals and also serve as excellent strongrefreshers/strong for those already involved. While participation has not been made mandatory, it is strongly encouraged to maintain high standards across all disciplines./p

pA strongFire Training School/strong will take place on strongApril 18 at the track/strong. This hands-on session continues to be an essential component of marshal development. MMS has previously supported this program through contributions toward the burn box used in training—an investment that continues to benefit participants today./p

pThe Motorsport Marshalling website offers a variety of downloadable manuals to support ongoing development, including:/p
ul li pBlue Flag procedures/p /li li pCaptain roles/p /li li pPhone operations/p /li/ul
pMarshals are encouraged to take advantage of these materials to expand their knowledge and skillset./p
h3Graduated Licensing Process/h3
pFollowing completion of a marshal school, participants enter a structured, experience-based progression:/p
ul li pstrongPhone Operator to Basic:/strong Minimum of 15+ events/p /li li pstrongBasic to Intermediate:/strong Approximately 40 events, plus at least two additional training courses (e.g., fire/safety, blue flag, tower phone operations, or start line duties), along with mentorship/p /li li pstrongIntermediate to Advanced:/strong An additional 40 events, completion of all required courses, and sign-offs (Silver level is theoretical)/p /li li pstrongAdvanced Gold:/strong Fully practical, including mentorship and sign-offs for Start and Tower Phone Operations/p /li li pstrongCCM (Chief Course Marshal):/strong Minimum of 160 events/p /li/ul
pThis progression ensures marshals gain the experience, training, and confidence needed to operate safely and effectively at all levels./p
