Renegade Trucks Picked-Up Fans in 2025 at Peterborough Speedway
Some good-natured kidding between a couple of life-long friends created the illusion of an on-track rivalry during 2025 action in the Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck field at Peterborough Speedway.
Even though teammates Mark Gordon and Howie Crowe dominated the pick-up pack’s performance, the pair was often found poking fun at each other in the track paddock before, after and during the races. The mutually deprecating behind scenes moments proved to be as entertaining as the duo’s efforts on raceway.
Gordon – who also turned laps in the track’s Super Stock field and ran a limited schedule with the OSCAAR Hot Rods – clinched the season title by a 13-point cushion over Crowe, who has a Super Stock track championship on his resume. Shawn Murray, team drivers Adam Chatten and Jack Dallin and Scott Jacobs completed the top 5 in the running order. Throughout the 2025 schedule, close to 15 teams competed in the Renegade Truck starting field.
“There will always be changes in the raceday roster, but our team is confident that the Renegade Truck pack will be a Peterborough Speedway fixture for years to come,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “We’re happy to have them as part of our racing family.”
Racers will have their accomplishments from the 2025 season recognised with the annual awards banquet – Saturday, January 24th – at the Ennismore Community Centre, 553 Ennis Road. Tickets are $70 per person, with reservations by January 15th requested.
A few dates for travelling divisions have been confirmed for the new schedule. Provincial Outlaw Super Late Model teams will return to the OSCAAR fold in 2026 for the first time in 8 seasons. Central Ontario fans will see the popular group at Peterborough Speedway Saturday, July 11th. JR Fitzpatrick made quick work of the starting field in 2025. Coming from 4th place in the starting field, the driver of the No. 84 machine took the lead after an early race caution and claimed his 2nd straight victory.
Track officials have also booked Saturday, June 13th for the return of the APC Late Model Series. Saturday, July 25th is the regular season date for the OSCAAR Hot Rod and Modified divisions, with a 100 lapper for the Ontario Sportsman Series planned for Saturday, August 8th.
