What to watch in August at Cornwall Motor Speedway

0 4

Cornwall, ON – Friday, August 1, 2025 – Martin Belanger – We are already in the final month of the regular season at Cornwall Motor Speedway, with five events scheduled in August, combined with multiple battles across different championships, the final month promises to be exciting to follow! Here’s what to watch:

The Canadian Big Block Series to kick off August

Always a popular event, the Canadian Big Block Series kicks off August this Sunday evening with a $10,000-to-win event that will attract some of the biggest stars such as Mat Williamson, David Hebert, Felix Roy and Tim Fuller. The Farnham Ale Lager Pro-Stock Series and Weekend Warriors Mini-Stock Series will also share the spotlight.

Three full programs to gain points!

After August 3rd, the following three Sundays will be full programs that includes visits of the Lightning Sprints and Vintage on the 10th, the PM Promotions Pro-Stock Series on the 17th and Street Stocks on the 24th. It will be a great opportunity for our regular teams to collect points toward the coveted track title!

Championship night to cap off regular season on August 31

One of the most anticipated and attended events of the season is championship night where we will crown several champions! The Fat Les Canadian Nationals Series will be part of that evening with a 125-lap feature paying $5,000 to win! The Lamoureux Pumping Sportsman, PM Promotions Pro-Stock and Weekend Warriors Mini-Stock Series are also part of that big night!

A rare 3-way tie for the 358-Modified title!

One of the battles to watch and that will probably conclude on August 31 is for the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified title as Ryan Stabler, Corey Wheeler, and Jackson Gill enter August tied at 472 points each, a rare and unusual sight to see the top three drivers tied. Only 55 points separates the top 6 as Brian McDonald is 21 points away from the trio, Joey Ladouceur is at 42 and Louie Jackson is at 55.

In the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman, Tristan Ladouceur is well positioned to secure a first title in Cornwall, Ladouceur has a 63-point lead over Elliot Gamache and 111 points over Jeffrey Lapalme. The young talent from Alexandria just needs to continue his consistent season and he could be crowned champion!

Marc Lalonde will look to end his career as a full-time Pro-Stock competitor with the Alexandria Home Hardware title, with 4 wins to his resume this season at Cornwall, Lalonde comes in with 35 points over Jocelyn Roy and 52 on Burton Ward.

A surprise name on top of the board in the Ricks Ranch Mini-Stock as Sebastien Raymond-Beauregard chose to become a regular competitor in the division for 2025, a decision he might not regret as he leads the points with 43 ahead of Emily Massy who has been consistent all year long. Christopher Proulx is currently in third with 59 points behind the leader.

Aiming for 10…

Mother Nature has been kind lately to us, a few curve balls here and there with storms around the speedway on race night and very hot weather but the race management has been able to get all the events in since the beginning of June. With a promising forecast for Sunday, this would mean 10 completed events in a row for Cornwall, which is something rarely seen in a single season!

With 5 events scheduled for August, there is a lot to watch and choose from!
