PVGP Rolls On – A Motoring Mardi Gras of Racing, Cars and Community

0 4

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh’s streets and parks are alive with the sounds of revving engines and cheering fans as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix hits full throttle on its 43rd year. Dubbed a Motoring Mardi Gras, this 10-day celebration is in full swing, leading up to the grand finale: Race Weekend in Schenley Park, July 19–20, 2025.

Race Weekend is the crown jewel — a full-throttle festival on the rolling fairways of the Bob O’Connor Golf Course in Schenley Park. Over 3,000 vehicles from every era and corner of the globe gather for the Caliente Pizza International Car Show, with special displays celebrating Lotus as Marque of the Year and a Mazda Miata Spotlight. Visitors can stroll the fairways, explore sponsor tents, meet drivers, and watch vintage racers battle it out on city streets — a thrill unique to Pittsburgh.

New for 2025, the PVGP proudly unveils two reimagined racecourses, including the all-new UPMC Schenley Oval Circuit. With Panther Hollow Bridge under repair, organizers have crafted a dynamic 2-mile circuit that merges the historic layout’s beloved stretches with fresh challenges. Expect sweeping elevation changes, the iconic hay bale chicane, roaring passes along the Boulevard of the Allies, and new fan zones inside the Oval for unmatched views of the action.

Debuting the MOTUL Panther Hollow Hillclimb. For the first time, the PVGP will host a Hillclimb in Schenley Park—a time trial where cars sprint solo up a winding 1-mile course from Phipps Conservatory to the Neill Log House. This opens the door to a broader range of vintage, muscle, and rare cars that don’t typically race wheel-to-wheel.

Walk-in admission is just $10 per person, with every dollar directly supporting Autism Pittsburgh and Merakey Allegheny Valley School — continuing the PVGP’s mission of combining motorsport passion with a drive to make a difference.

Motors, music, parties, and pure Pittsburgh spirit — this is the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it!
