Lotus Leadership to Headline the PVGP as Marque of the Year
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) is honored to announce that Lotus will be celebrated as the Marque of the Year for 2025, highlighted by the special appearance of top Lotus executives during the Grand Prix’s biggest weekend, July 18 through 20.
Massimiliano Trantini, President and CEO of Lotus Americas, and James Carter, Chief Commercial Officer, will join thousands of fans in Schenley Park for the July 18–20 Race Weekend. Their presence underscores the profound legacy of Lotus at the PVGP — the iconic British marque was the first ever honored at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in 1985 and now returns to headline the 43rd running of this unique event.
Max Trantini and Jim Carter will take part in key moments throughout PVGP Race Week:
- Friday, July 18: Trantini will deliver special remarks at the PVGP Driver’s Reception at Phipps Botanical Gardens.
- Saturday, July 19: He will serve as the Honorary Starter for the Motul Hillclimb, dropping the green flag during the opening ceremonies at 9:30 AM.
- Saturday, July 19: Appearance within the Lotus Marque Tent on the Schenley Park Golf Course to meet Lotus enthusiasts and watch the races.
Lotus of Pittsburgh’s Bobby and Scott Wright will join them to host Lotus owners and fans as they gather at the Lotus Marque Tent on the golf course all weekend to watch the races and celebrate more than seven decades of Lotus innovation and racing heritage.

Lotus will showcase a spectacular lineup of legendary British racing machines on the track, including the Lotus Seven, FJ18, 23, 51, and Elan. Additionally, the brand will supply a Lotus Emira Turbo Pace Car and display the cutting-edge Lotus Emira GT4, homologated for global GT4 competition and specialist race series around the world.
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the nation’s largest vintage street race, featuring 10 days of vintage racing, car shows, parties, parades, and motorsport events. The PVGP was recently recognized as a finalist for Motorsport Event of the Year by the International Historic Motoring Awards, alongside prestigious names such as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Goodwood Revival, Velocity Invitational, and Silverstone Festival.
Entering its 43rd year, the PVGP continues its mission to host a world-class automotive celebration while raising essential funds for individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Pittsburgh region. To date, the PVGP has donated more than $7 million through the incredible support of its volunteers, attendees, and sponsors.
