Andretti Indoor Karting and Games opening in north OKC July 15

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — If you like adrenaline-pumping, high-flying fun on the race track, then a new business here in the metro might be for you.

Andretti Indoor Karting and Games is set to open near Britton Road and Broadway Extension on July 15.

You probably know the Andretti name very well. Now, the legend of racing is taking pole position here in north Oklahoma City, 84-thousand sq. ft. of family entertainment.

"We've got our multi-level, 3-story, tracks with our high-speed super karts, all-electric,” General Manager for the business, Andrew White, said. “We have two VR attractions, we have our 7-D motion theatre experience, we have a 2-story laser tag arena, we have duck pin bowling, we have two bars."

The main attraction is their four levels of racing, from adult karts that go up to 35 mph for those ages 18 and up to karts for 4-year-olds. Over 100 games fill the arcade, and you can get a real feel for being in the driver's seat in their 7-D motion theater. But that’s not just for racing.

"There's a couple different games that we have, one's zombies, one's carnival, it's like a medieval carnival that takes over, we have one for the kids that's like desert robots,” White said.

They have a Formula 1 simulator, and adding in 5,000 sq. ft. of event space to host parties leaves no shortage of things to do as the final pit preparations take place before customers get behind the wheel.

"Everything we do is trying to live up to that Andretti name,” White said.

If you want to be part of the fast-moving fun, you can be part of their grand opening on July 15 at 4 p.m. About 600 lucky customers can have a chance to win a sneak preview of the place as well. You just have to visit their Facebook page to learn how to enter.

KFOR was also told that Mario Andretti himself will also be making an appearance at the grand opening.

We have a link to their website for hours of operation and pricing. They’re also still hiring for anyone looking for a job.
