DXDT Racing Joins The Corvette Racing Customer Family
DXDT Racing will enter two new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs in Fanatec GT World Challenge America next season.
The team from Statesville, North Carolina will run a partial schedule in its first year as a Corvette Racing customer team.
DXDT joins an impressive fleet of first-year customer teams for the new era of Corvette Racing, which includes the previously-announced World Endurance Championship programme from Britain’s TF Sport, and a two-car IMSA GTD class programme from Canadian team AWA.
DXDT Racing owner and founder David Askew said: “I’m tremendously excited to run the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R next year! We have developed a great relationship with the folks at Corvette Racing and Pratt Miller. I look forward to working closely with them.
“They have a long history of winning races and championships all over the world, and we aim to leverage that expertise and put it to use at DXDT.
“I particularly like the fact that we are starting with the car in SRO. We will be able to focus and really work on developing the car, and if we put our heads down and work hard, I think DXDT has a real opportunity to win races and championships in the coming years!”
Founded in 2014, DXDT Racing began competing full-time in GT World Challenge America (and its predecessor series, Pirelli World Challenge) in 2018 as a Mercedes-AMG customer team.
DXDT has six wins in the series from drivers such as Askew, George Kurtz, Colin Braun, Michael Cooper, and Erin Vogel – who became the first woman to achieve a class victory in GT World Challenge America in 2021.
“It’s a significant honor to have DXDT choose the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the GT World Challenge America championship,” said Christie Bagne, Corvette Z06 GT3.R Programme Manager.
“Our groups at Chevrolet Racing and Pratt Miller are very impressed by the investment that David Askew and his group have made with their race operations and level of professionalism during this process. We look forward to working with DXDT to contend for race wins and titles in GT World Challenge America.”
Drivers for the two DXDT Corvettes will be announced at a later date.
