Record Grid Looking Likely For 2023 Asian Le Mans Series
The grid for the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series is building nicely with healthy numbers in both LMP classes and for the GT class looking assured for the return of the Series to the four-race, two-weekend format at Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi in February 2023.
DKR Engineering’s LMP2 Oreca announced today should be joined by United Autosports (2 cars), Cool Racing, ARC Bratislava, Inter Europol, Algarve Pro Racing, Nielsen Racing and possibly one other, as yet unannounced, but debuting LMP2 team with at least 2 other established teams actively trying to finalise line-ups.
In LMP3 Inter Europol (2-3), Nielsen Racing, Graff Racing (x 2), Konrad Motorsport, DKR Engineering, Reiter Engineering, and Cool racing are known to have either submitted entries or are actively planning to enter.
GT3 meanwhile looks set to be a bumper entry once again: Optimum/ Inception (2 x McLaren 720S), Garage 59 (1-2 Mclaren), TF Sport (Aston Martin) plus at least one other Aston Martin squad, Kessel Racing (2 x Ferrari 488 GT3), AF Corse (1+ Ferrari), Walkenhorst (BMW M4 GT3), Dinamic Motorsport (Porsche) and others are set to join a field that looks almost certain to be again at record levels.
