NOLA Replaces Ozarks International For Round 2 of GT World Challenge America

SRO America have confirmed that the second race meeting of the 2022 SRO Motorsports Group America season will take place at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana, on the weekend of 19-22 May rather than the planned first visit to the brand new Ozarks International Raceway in Missouri (below), which is not yet ready for the SRO packager with less than one month until the race meeting.

In a message to competitors and partners SRO America said:

“Due to weather related delays and ongoing global supply chain issues, we are moving our rounds scheduled for Ozark International Raceway to NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana, May 19-22.

“All paid event entry, rental equipment, Bronze test and Single Event Credential fees will automatically be transferred to the NOLA event. All garage rental fees will be refunded. There will be a Thursday test day and the test day link will be sent out by this Friday. Complete details for the NOLA weekend will be posted online soon.

“We extend our deepest thanks to you our competitors, partners, and the management of OIR and NOLA for making this possible on very short notice. We will have an announcement about our debut at OIR with our GT4 and TC classes when available.

“We look forward to seeing you in NOLA!”

The 4.3 kilometre, one-time IndyCar Series host venue, situated near the city of New Orleans will see the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS headline the meeting, supported by the Pirelli GT4 America and TC America series.

The GT America powered by AWS series will not be part of this event, as the all-bronze sprint series resumes their season at VIRginia International Raceway on 17-19 June.

SRO America remains in dialogue with Ozarks International Raceway over inclusion on their calendar in future seasons.
