Volunteer Speedway will open the 2020 racing season FRIDAY, MAY 22 with Topless Outlaws and American Crate All-Star doubleheader

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (May 15, 2020) – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee along with the Tennessee Economic Recovery Group announced today it will lift restrictions that were in place across the state due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and thus racetracks will now be allowed to open May 22.

Volunteer Speedway will open the 2020 racing season on FRIDAY, MAY 22 featuring a doubleheader showcasing the Topless Outlaws Dirt Racing Series ($2,500-to-win) and American Crate All-Star Series ($2,000-to-win). Also in action will be Street Stock, Classic and Front Wheel Drive. … With heat races, B-mains and features for the Late Model classes, unfortunately due to time limitations Sportsman Late Model, Modified Street and Mini Stock “will not” be racing.

Pit gates will open FRIDAY, MAY 22 at 4 p.m. and grandstand gates at 5 p.m. Hot laps start around 7 p.m., to be followed by qualifying and racing. … Street Stock, Classic and Front Wheel Drive qualifying times will be determined during hot laps.

Adult grandstand $15, kids 10-and-under free. … Adult pit/tier-parking $35, youth (ages 5-12) $15, and under 5 admitted free.
