Local auto racing: Rain gives rise to new event

With rain forcing the cancellation of several shows early in the season, DeVore has decided to add another event to the 2017 schedule.

The event will include Modified, Sportsman, Limited Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock divisions.

Drivers will draw for a starting spot in the qualifying events.

Not only do the racers like the consistency, but when you are running events all the time, things seem to gel a little better (with staff) on the other side of the fence as well.

After going through reconstructive knee surgery this winter, he's been in physical therapy.

On Sunday, the Electric City Riders will host their rain-delayed event under what's predicted to be beautiful sunny skies at Albany Saratoga Speedway.
