Men's Basketball

The Spires are now 4-6 and 0-4 after their matchup against Southwestern College on Tuesday. Cam Southern led Saint Mary in scoring with 16 points on the night, while Deshaud St. Martin was right behind him with 14 points and six rebounds. USM's field goal percentage was 40.3% and 42.3% from behind the three-point liner against the Builders. The Spires will hit the road early in the week to take on McPherson College at 8 p.m. on Monday, and then on Tuesday, Saint Mary will travel to Emporia State for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Women's Basketball

Saint Mary is now 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the KCAC after beating Southwestern College convincingly by a score of 68-36 on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, the Spires played against Pitt State for an exhibition against the Gorillas, losing 95-63 and going 1-1 on the week. On Tuesday, Tanea Sims led Saint Mary with 18 points and eight rebounds on the night. Jerrica Johnson was another big contributor with 13 points and six rebounds for the Spires. On Wednesday night Johnson and Demi Aamold had 14 points against the Gorillas, while Sims had another six rebounds. USM is set to play against McPherson College at 6 p.m. on Monday in McPherson, Kansas, and will host Bethany College at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Ryan Sports Center.
