No. 8 Arkansas Finishes Runner-Up at Clemson Invitational, José Marin Collects First Individual Win

SUNSET, S.C. – The eighth-ranked Arkansas women’s golf team concluded the regular season with a runner-up finish at the Clemson Invitational at the Reserve at Lake Keowee (Par 72) in Sunset, South Carolina.

The Hogs finished at 16-under par, one stroke shy of No. 4 Florida, which collected its fifth tournament win of the season.

Maria José Marin scored under par in all three rounds (67-71-68) and tied Vanderbilt’s Lynn Lim at 10-under for first place. The junior finished inside the top 10 in all nine of Arkansas’ regular-season tournaments. She has five career individual wins, including the 2025 NCAA Individual Championship.

The Hogs’ freshmen also had a strong weekend, with both Sara Brentcheneff (-4, T5) and Swetha Sathish (-1, T12) earning their highest finishes to date. Brentcheneff went 69-71-72, her first tournament at or under par in each round. Sathish shot 71-73-71 to finish under par for the first time of her collegiate career.

Junior Abbey Schutte (+1, T19) shot over par in the first two rounds, but finished with a 3-under 69 on Sunday to earn her sixth top 20 finish of the season. Senior Reagan Zibilski (+5, T36) turned in a 75 in each of the first two rounds and shot an even 72 on the final day.

Zibilski had an eagle in the first round and José Marin had one in the third round on the par-4 sixth hole.

Arkansas finished the regular season with three wins (Blessings Collegiate Invitational, Dale McNamara Invitational and the Puerto Rico Classic), six top 3 finishes in nine events and a record of 108-13-1.

Brentcheneff, José Marin and Zibilski will compete at this week’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur from April 1-4.
