Noah Lyles headlines Tyson Invitational on Valentine’s day
FAYETTEVILLE – Olympic 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles is scheduled to race in the 200m at the 2026 Tyson Invitational that will be held on February 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
The 2024 Paris Olympic 100m gold medalist, Lyles has collected eight World Athletics titles in his career, which includes four 200m titles, along with one 100m and three 4 x 100m relay titles. In the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships, Lyles swept gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4 x 100m relay.
Lyles, twice an Olympic 200m bronze medalist in Tokyo and Paris, is the American 200m record holder with a 19.31 second performance from winning the 2022 World Athletics Outdoor title in Eugene, Oregon.
The men’s 200m Championship race at the Tyson Invitational is scheduled for 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, February 14.
“It’s a big get for any meet anywhere if Noah Lyles is coming to your meet to compete,” stated Arkansas men’s head coach Doug Case. “We’re really excited about having the world’s fastest man at the Tyson Invitational.
“Hopefully we can get a lot of people to come out and watch him run on Saturday. It’s going to be a great experience and I think it will be worth coming to see.”
Both days of the Tyson Invitational will feature events that are World Athletics Silver status. These include men’s and women’s 60m, 400m, and 60m hurdles as well as men’s 800m, high jump and long jump and the women’s triple jump.
