FAYETTEVILLE – The 17th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks return home to host the South Carolina Gamecocks on Wednesday (Jan. 14). Tipoff is set for 8 pm (CT) and the game will be televised on SEC Network.

Razorbacks Nick Pringle and Karter Knox are familiar with the Gamecocks.

Pringle played at South Carolina last season and averaged 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds with the Gamecocks. In fact, one of his best games of the season came in a blowout win over Arkansas last season as he scored 18 points (7-of-11 FG and 4-of-5 FT) with nine rebounds and two steals.

Knox’s older brother Kobe is in his first season at South Carolina. Kobe began his career at Grand Canyon and played the last two seasons at South Florida. Kobe has started all 16 games for South Carolina this season and is averaging 9.0 points.

NOTES:

  • Arkansas and South Carolina have met on 42 previous occasions, all coming since the Gamecocks and Razorbacks joined the SEC for the 1991-92 season.
  • Arkansas owns a 24-18 advantage in the series, including a 12-6 margin in games played in Fayetteville, and winning 9 of the last 15 in the series.
  • Arkansas snapped a 3-game losing streak to the Gamecocks with a 72-68 victory over South Carolina in the SEC Tournament last year. However, earlier in the year — specifically 11 days earlier — South Carolina cruised past the Razorbacks, 72-53, in Columbia.
  • Arkansas continues to rank among the NCAA leaders in fastbreak points (3rd at 20.4 ppg) and 3-point percentage (12th at 39.2% – which leads the SEC).
  • Malique Ewin loves the second Saturdays in January, specifically road games on the second Saturday of January. Last year, while at Florida State, Ewin recorded a double-double on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Clemson. This year, as a Razorback, Ewin recorded a double-double on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Auburn.
