Hogs Hit the Road for First Pair of Away SEC Matches

The Arkansas volleyball team will have its first away tests in conference play this weekend as the Hogs are set to take on Missouri and Vanderbilt on the road.

Both matches will be unique for the team. Friday’s tilt against the Missouri Tigers in Columbia is the 1,000th in program history, and Sunday’s contest in Nashville will be the first-ever between Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

The Hogs haven’t played in Columbia since 2022, which is also the only time Arkansas has ever won in Missouri’s gym. The Tigers are currently 8-2, 0-2 in conference play. They check in at No. 2 and No. 3 in the SEC in aces/set (1.94) and digs/set (14.38), respectively. Libero Maya Sands is atop the conference in digs/set at 4.73, which is also good for top 25 nationally.

Vanderbilt officially revived its volleyball this season after a 45-year hiatus, making Sunday’s match Arkansas’ first against the Commodores. Sunday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Hogs and Commodores. Vanderbilt sits at 4-7, 0-2 in SEC competition. The Dores played a challenging non-conference schedule with two ranked opponents and opened conference play with two top 10 teams, Texas and Texas A&M. Arkansas and Vandy’s setters are No. 4 and No. 5 in the conference in assists/set, Kiki Remensperger with 9.85 and Isabella Bareford with 9.69

Friday’s match against Mizzou is set for 7 p.m. and Sunday’s against Vanderbilt has a noon first serve. Both will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
