Rachel Glenn runner-up in fast 400m Hurdles race at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Razorback Rachel Glenn produced another thrilling 400m hurdle race on the first day of the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational as she posted the third-fastest time in the world for 2025 with a runner-up time of 53.48 seconds.

Michigan’s Savannah Sutherland won the race in 53.46, the second fastest time in the world for 2025 and edged ahead of Glenn in the final steps of the race. In third place, at 53.73, was Akala Garrett of Texas, who registered the fourth fastest time in the world this season.

Sutherland, who has a PR of 53.26, produced the No. 7 performance on the all-time collegiate list. Glenn, who has a PR of 53.46 from the 2024 Olympic Trials, moves to No. 6 performer on the all-time collegiate list with her 53.48 and has the No. 8 performance.

In the second section of the 400m hurdles, Razorback Saira Prince won in 55.49 and placed fourth overall. Prince moves to No. 3 on the UA all-time list with her career best, ranking behind Britton Wilson and Glenn.

Funminiyi Olajide finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20-7 (6.27) that equals No. 4 on the UA all-time list. Arkansas freshman Anya Jackson posted an outdoor PR of 23.12 to place third in her section of the 200m (-0.3 wind) and she finished fifth overall.

Sorcha Shiu placed eighth in the 1,500m with a 4:30.31.
