0 1

The last weekend in March our Xcel Teams were out c-r-u-s-h-i-n-g it at USAG State Championships!

COLUMBIA CITY:

Coach Jayme: “It was a fun weekend in Tacoma. The girls worked really hard in the gym in the weeks leading up to this meet, we really focused a lot on the small details and they were so much fun to watch. Now we’re back in the gym, taking some time to recover and then it’s upgrade season. We are also preparing for our big NGA meets coming up in the next couple of months!”

BURIEN:

Coach Nikita: “Wow! What a way to end the season! SGA Burien had 8 gymnasts competing at the Xcel State meet and they all looked amazing! I saw some of our best routines of the season out there. From very clean bar routines to super fun floor dance to some very powerful vaults , all our athletes killed it!

Shout out to all our gymnasts this season: our Bronze team, Camille and Renata, and our Silver team, Brianna, Ella, Katie, Kyra, Maya, Nikkie, and Sloane! What a great first Xcel season! Thank you all for letting me be you coach and being such supportive teammates to each other.

I also want to give one final shout out to SGA Columbia City for letting us tag along with them this year. Thank you for being the best teammates and coaches to support us through our first competition season! You were all super helpful to all of us all season. I want to wish good luck to those of you who are continuing your season with NGA.

It’s a bitter sweet moment as our season comes to a close, but I am already looking forward to the next with new teammates and new skills!”

(Note: for Burien only, this was the last meet of our inaugural season, and we are beyond proud of this team. Thank you to Coach Nikita for all your hard work, you’ve built a great foundation with great athletes that are unstoppable!)

BALLARD:

Coach Lauryn: “What an incredible weekend at the XCEL State Championships! Our gymnasts gave it their all, showcasing their hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport. We are beyond proud of every athlete who competed—you truly represented our team with grace and determination! A huge shoutout to those who placed on the podium! With State Championships behind us, we now shift our focus to the NGA Regional Qualifier. Let’s keep up the momentum and get ready to bring our best to the next competition!”

Coach Melia: “Congratulations everyone! It was truly an amazing weekend and I was blown away by everyone’s performance! I know that the timeline this season has been tough for the kids but their hard work paid off! The group had their peak performance right when we were hoping for and everyone was really shining! I can’t believe how much they have progressed in such a short time period. I am really so proud of each and every athlete and feel so blessed to be part of their journey. Our next push is for upgrades and I can’t wait to transition into our next period.”

Coach Nayeli: “The competition was incredible, with the girls looking confident and assured in everything they did. Their performances really highlighted their artistic expression, and it was clear they were enjoying themselves. The joy and energy they brought to each event made the entire presentation even more captivating.”

LAKE CITY:

Coach Misa: “‘We are so proud!’ is an understatement! These gymnasts did an outstanding job at State! Many new skills competed, a lot of medals, including All-Around Champions Ihriel and Sarah, and the Diamond team placing 4th!! A Big round of applause to our two High School Seniors, Celia and Charlotte for wrapping up their gymnastics careers with a fantastic last meet. Congratulations on an amazing season!”

Coach Annika: “Congratulations to all of our gymnasts for finishing up their USAG season, and kudos to the ones who competed at State this past weekend. The sessions were long and sometimes an even tougher meet for those who have to compete alone, but they pushed through and did some of their best performances we’ve seen all season! Now it’s time to start working on strength, and upgrading our current skills as we approach summer. Way to go LKC!”
