Razorbacks Wrap up Day 3 of SEC Championships
ATHENS, Ga. – Bella Cothern capped off Wednesday action for the Hogs with yet another solid swim in the 50 Free following a hard-fought battle in the 200 Free Relay.
The Razorback 200 Free Relay squad consisting of Cothern, Harrison, Colvin and Thome swam to a 10th-place finish, edging out Kentucky and Vanderbilt’s relays with a 1:30.08 finish. Cothern led off the relay with a blazing 22.35 split on her leg. Harrison posted a swift 22.50 followed by a 22.67 leg by Gracie Colvin. Allie Thome fought hard in the last leg, maintaining the Razorback’s position in the race.
In the 50 Free C-Final, Cothern clocked a speedy 22.41 placing 6th andswimming a mere 0.1 seconds over her personal-best 22.31. This marked the second NCAA B-Cut she posted in the event today.
Maria Jose Sanchez dove to a 6th-place finish in the consolation final on the 3-meter springboard, marking the second final she has qualified for in as many events.
Tomorrow’s action will feature the 400 IM, 100 Fly, and 200 Free. The prelims can be streamed on SECN+ and the finals can be streamed here.
