FAYETTEVILLE – For just the second time this month, Arkansas will play a home game when the Razorbacks host North Carolina A&T on Saturday (Dec. 21). Tipoff in Bud Walton Arena is set for 1:30 pm and the game will be televised on SEC Network.

After Christmas, Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena to host Oakland on Dec. 30 (Monday). Tipoff is set for 7 pm and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

NOTES:

• Arkansas and North Carolina A&T have met on three previous occasions and the Razorbacks won all three, two at home and one on a neutral court.
• The first meeting came in the first round of 1994 NCAA Tournament in Oklahoma City. Corliss Williamson scored 24 points while Scotty Thurman added 19 points and nine assists in the 94-79 win. The Aggies had three players combine for 59 of the team’s 79 points with Joe Bunn and Tyrone Brice each scored 20 and Phillip Allen added 19.
• The second meeting came two seasons later with the Razorbacks getting a 103-49 victory. Jesse Pate led the Hogs with 20 points. All 12 Aggie that played scored but none reached double-digits.
• The last meeting was in the 2010-11 season and Arkansas won, 87-59. Rotnei Clarke led Arkansas with 24 points and Delvon Johnson had 13 rebounds.
• There are several ties binding the Arkansas and North Carolina A&T programs. First, Razorback assistant coach Chuck Martin’s son – Jordan – is a junior on the NC A&T basketball team. Second, Landon Glasper is Fayetteville native and played at Fayetteville HS while Ronnie Brewer was on staff. Also, Ryan Forrest is from Marion and played with Glasper on an AAU team coached by Brewer. Last, Bruiser Flint and A&T head coach Monte Ross are both Philly natives and friends. Monte’s dad dated Bruiser’s mom when the two of them were young. Also, Bruiser’s sister and Monte’s wife are close friends
• In the first two games, Arkansas struggled from 3-point range, and, despite its improvement, many still see the Razorbacks’ 3-pont shooting as a weakness. However, Arkansas is one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country the last nine games.
