No. 34 Gomez Alonso Falls in Round of 64 at NCAA Singles Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 34 Carolina Gomez Alonso represented the Razorbacks in her second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Singles Championships, falling in three sets in the Round of 64.

Gomez Alonso dropped the first set against No. 57 Gala Mesochoritou (Michigan), 2-6, but battled back to force a decisive third set with a 6-1 win in the second set. In the final set, Mesochoritou regained control to eventually claim the match after a 6-1 victory in the third set. Gomez Alonso, a First Team All-SEC honoree, finishes her successful season at 17-9 overall and 13-7 in the dual season.
