Razorbacks break school record in 4 x 200 at Texas Relays

AUSTIN – Arkansas broke the school record in the 4 x 200m relay on the final day of the 96th Texas Relays, posting a time of 1 minute, 31.11 seconds as the top collegiate team in the two-section final.

Running with a foursome of Nickisha Pryce, Amber Anning, Kaylyn Brown, and Rosey Effiong the Razorbacks finished ahead of Texas (1:32.70), Oklahoma (1:33.64), BYU (1:34.72), and Clemson (1:34.78).

This marks the first time in the history of the Texas Relays for the Razorbacks to claim the top collegiate finish in the 4 x 200m relay and it becomes the 12th victory overall for the Arkansas women.

The time of 1:31.11 ranks Arkansas as the No. 8 school in collegiate history with the 20th performance.

A mixed international team won the race in a world best of 1:27.05 with a line that include three Texas alums who set the collegiate and meet record of 1:28.05 last season.

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith led off the quartet and was followed by the trio of Longhorn alums in Lanae Thomas, Rhasidat Adeleke, and Julian Alfred. They bettered the world record time of 1:27.46 set by the United States in 2000.
