Arkansas’ run ends in Sweet 16 loss to UConn

LAS VEGAS –

Arkansas’ run in NCAA Tournament ended in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night against a hot-shooting UConn team 88-65 at T-Mobile Arena.

The Huskies, seeded fourth and ranked #10/12, used a 14-0 run midway through the first half and never looked back UConn shot 57.4% from the field, including 45% from deep. The Huskies were able to play to their strengths all night, grabbing 43 rebounds and scoring 42 points in the paint., while dishing out 22 assists on 31 made baskets.

Anthony Black led the Razorbacks with 20 points and while steals, while and Ricky Council IV chipped in 17 and Nick Smith Jr., had 11.

Jordan Hawkins led all scorers with 24 points for UConn while big man Adama Sanogo scored 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Two Huskies, Tristen Newton and Andre Jackson Jr., each had seven assists.

Arkansas ends the season 22-14 with the team’s third straight trip to the Sweet 16.
