Jalen Battles’ big weekend at the plate powered Arkansas to a series win over Mississippi State, helping the Razorbacks secure their 13th consecutive SEC series win and extend the SEC’s longest consecutive home series win streak to 10. The San Antonio, Texas, native drove in a team-leading six RBI on the weekend, including three in the series-opening win against the Bulldogs on Friday night. Battles, who had a hit in all four games during the weekend, clobbered a pair of home run in Friday night’s 8-1 win. He finished the weekend with two multi-hit games and two multi-RBI efforts.

Connor Noland turned in his fourth quality start of the season in Friday night’s series-opening win against Mississippi State, fanning six over a season-long seven innings of one-run ball. The veteran right-hander’s gem helped him earn his fourth win of the season and spurred the Razorbacks to their 13th consecutive SEC series win and 10th consecutive SEC home series win.

Freshman of the Week
RHP Brady Tygart

Stats (1 GP): 0.00 ERA, 3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 SO

Brady Tygart was electric in relief against Mississippi State, emerging from the bullpen in Sunday’s series finale to strike out a career-high seven batters in a career-long appearance of 3 2/3 innings. The true freshman from Hernando, Miss., retired the first six Bulldog batters he faced on strikeouts.

Razorback Notes

  • Arkansas won its 13th consecutive SEC series and its 10th consecutive SEC home series this past weekend against Mississippi State.
  • The Razorbacks’ 13 consecutive SEC series wins is the longest such streak since Vanderbilt (2012-14) and Florida (2017-18) won an SEC-record 15 straight conference series.
