LAST TIME OUT

• Arkansas Women’s Basketball won its second straight game on Sunday afternoon in Bud Walton Arena, downing Mississippi State 74-54.
• The Hogs are back at .500 in league play, and have won three of their last four games.
• Arkansas’ defense put together another strong showing in front of 4,177 loud Hog fans Sunday, holding Mississippi State to just 54 points on 36 percent shooting from the field.
• Freshman guard Samara Spencer led the charge in this one, dropping in a career-best 19 points in the win. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, product was sizzling from beyond the arc, hitting five of her eight attempts from long distance. Spencer has been awesome over her last two games – she scored 18 points against Alabama on Thursday, hitting four threes in that game.
• Redshirt senior guard Amber Ramirez helped shoulder the scoring load in this one, chipping in with 17 points.
• The first half of this game was a grind, as the teams entered the break tied at 28. However, Arkansas separated itself in the third quarter, as the Hogs hit 11 of their 18 field goal attempts, including four threes in the frame. The Razorbacks dominated the period, 32-17.
• Spencer keyed the big run, hitting three of her five triples in the period, all before the six-minute mark in the frame. The freshman would finish with 10 points in the period, and Ramirez would add nine.
• Defensively, Sasha Goforth was awesome for the Hogs in the second half, holding Bulldog star Rickea Jackson to just four points after the intermission.
• Goforth did it all in this one – she double-doubled, with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while guarding Jackson.
• She also posted two more blocks in the win, her 11th game this season with multiple rejections.
• Makayla Daniels was steady as ever, scoring 15 points, pulling down five boards, and dishing three assists.
• Rylee Langerman made an impact off the pine, going for four points, six boards and two steals.

STORYLINES

• With 2022 in full swing, Arkansas is 13-6, winning both of their SEC games last week.
• Neighbors’ squad continues to hover towards the top of the NET rankings, and are 25th currently.
• Most recently, the Hogs used a strong second half to down Mississippi State, 74-54.
• Freshman Samara Spencer did her thing, scoring a career-best 19 points in the win.
• Paired with her 18-point game on Thursday at Alabama, it was enough to win Spencer her second SEC Freshman of the Week honor.
• She is one of just five Hogs to have won the award multiple times in a season since 2000, and the first to do so since 2017.
• Sasha Goforth notched her third double-double as a Hog, going for 13 points and 12 boards.
• The Hogs scored 32 points in the decisive third quarter, the most in a single quarter this season.
• On Thursday, Arkansas dominated Alabama on the road, 99-71.
• The Hogs’ offense caught fire in this one – the Razorbacks shot 59.4 percent from the field in the win, only the fourth time since 2000 the Hogs shot the ball north of 59 percent.
• Arkansas also hit 15 threes in the win, the seventh time the Hogs have hit that many from deep in the Neighbors’ era. The Hogs had never hit 15+ triples in a game before Neighbors returned.
• Amber Ramirez led the way in the win, nearly triple-doubling.
• The Splash Sister finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the win.
• The Hogs also got Erynn Barnum back against the Tide, a huge boost for Arkansas.

SCOUTING #12 LSU

• In Coach Kim Mulkey’s first season at LSU the Tigers are off to their best start since the 2006-07 season when they started 20-2. However, they are coming off a loss at Florida.
• After LSU’s two previous losses, the Tigers responded the following game with wins.
• LSU went on the road and beat ULL after the loss to FGCU and the Tigers handled business at Auburn following the loss to South Carolina.
• Coach Mulkey is one win shy of 650 throughout her head coaching career.
• LSU leads the SEC in scoring offense (76.4) and scoring margin (+18.1).
• The Tigers’ rebounding has also been dominant and LSU is No.3 in the SEC with a +9.75 rebounding margin which also ranks No. 9 in the country. Autumn Newby grabs 7.89
  rebounds per game for LSU, tied for No. 8 in the conference.
• The backcourt duo of Khayla Pointer and Alexis Morris has been exceptional scoring the ball.
• Pointer is No. 3 in the SEC with 19.0 points per game and has scored at least 20 in 10 games. Morris has scored 14.28 points per game is No. 19 in the SEC in scoring.
• Morris has scored in double figures in 16 of the 19 games she has played in since joining LSU.
• Pointer is five rebounds shy of reaching 500 career rebounds. When she reaches that milestone, she will become the first player is program history to reach 1,500 points, 500 assists and 500 rebounds.
• Center Faustine Aifuwa has shot the ball extremely well and leads the SEC in field goal percentage in conference games.
• Through 6 SEC games, Aifuwa is shooting 65.1-percent which is nearly 10 points higher than the No. 2 (.554) shooter in the conference
