An Important Message from Rich McLaughlin, PSIA-AASI Intermountain President

PSIA-AASI Intermountain Board of Directors Elections are Coming Soon Here’s why you should get involved!   We have said before that it is satisfying and rewarding and you can represent the membership. All of that is true. What is also true is that the Division Board of Directors needs to hear many voices, and many viewpoints. It should not represent the old crowd, the Alpine clan, or the Vail voice. If you think there are ways we could change for the better or simply make membership easier to value and understand, we need your action now so we can hear your voice beginning in June 2017. There are five seats open. There are three at-large seats open, and two regional seats are available as well. The first encompasses Kelly Canyon, Pebble Creek, Beaver Mountain, and Cherry Peak, and the second contains Park City, Deer Valley, and the National Ability Center. There are some rules and regulations. All board members must attend all three meetings per year (June, November, and January). Each board member should write at least one article for the Edge per year. Board members should attend major functions and represent their position on the board with members. The only compensation for this position is one free clinic day per season. So if you’d like to become involved, here are the requirements to run for the Board of Directors. You must be a current, certified member of the Intermountain Division. If you are currently employed with a Snowsports School in one of the two regions mentioned above, you may run to represent your region. Whether you are currently employed in one of the above regions or not, you may run for one of the three at-large seats. You must submit nominations/applications by Wednesday February 15, 2017. This application consists of a letter (may be short and to the point) about why you want to run; this is your platform, so to speak. The letter should be signed by five active division members supporting your run. The application should also contain a passport-sized photo. Voting starts at the end of February and closes on March 15. Please talk to a current Board of Directors member or the PSIA-AASI Intermountain office if you have questions.
