Open Seats on the Snowboard Committee
There are two Committee seats opening this spring. The Committee will be accepting applications from now until May 22, 2017. Committee members will then review all applicants. The Committee will then select a new BOD Liaison and a new Certification Chair during the June 3, 2017 Snowboard Committee meeting. Below you will find the descriptions of each chair’s duties and the requirements to be eligible to apply. If you meet the requirements for a position and wish to apply, please send a letter outlining your credentials, how you think you could serve the division as committee member, what assets you would bring to the committee, and a little bit about yourself and your career as an instructor. The Committee is the best way to influence the course of the division and the education and certification processes. Committee members are held to varying work loads depending on what seat they hold. Most seats are volunteer and unpaid. Members are expected to be available for two Committee meeting annually; usually the meetings are held in Kimball Junction, UT, although the location is subject to change. New Committee members will be mentored by current chair holders and will be expected to attend the fall committee meeting some time before December 2017. As your season wraps up and you have a few moments to reflect upon your experience and relationship with AASI, recognize that your opinions and ideas are not only valued but essential to AASI-I’s progress forward. If you wish to be a part of building a safe, fair, and educational future for our members, don’t wait until May, throw your hat in now! We look forward to receiving your letters of application and any attachments that support your request for consideration.
