Watch Now: ‘Safety is Freedom’ Pocket Guide on Video
A 12 minute video guide to the key points of the HAT Framework method for keeping things acceptably safe and having more fun.
This explanatory video to our HAT framework method is designed for everyone interested in going off-piste and ski touring: from those just starting out, to the more experienced, and even for pros to use in their preparataion and group training.
It highlights key safety point/s that most often were not applied by the victim(s) when an avalanche accident happens. On a more positive note, these are also the key avalanche safety points that need to be applied in order to have a safer, more enjoyable time on the mountain in winter.
It is as an excellent complement to any other training you’ve undertaken, providing a focused method to apply the key points to reduce risk and the consequences, if an accident should occur.
It features a scoring system that allows you to evaluate your decisions and objectives against a reference point: the approximate danger level of daily actions like driving a car for an hour or so. (See our blog ‘What is Dangerous and what is acceptably safe’).
Typically, a comprehensive summary of key avalanche safety points would take at least an hour. Here we condense it into 12 minutes. Watch it here:
