UK Off-piste ‘Safety is Freedom’ Tour Dates 2024
For all off-piste and ski touring enthusiasts, beginners to experts. This is a great series of events for you to enjoy your next off-piste adventures that much more…..
This year’s Tour starts in London and moves to Glasgow, via Hemel Hempstead, Manchester and Kendal. See details below.
It includes our Essentials Talk (for anyone considering heading off-piste) and our In-Depth talk (a technical one for those that have already attended at least one Essentials Talk).
We also have Avalanche Transceiver Rescue Training sessions, where participants can learn and practise the rescue techniques used with a search beacon in the event of a victim burial – something which we strive to prevent in the first place.
The key to our message at HAT is in the application of knowledge. This is something that initially sounds obvious but is often missing in many avalanche incidents that can even involve highly experienced skiers and snowboarders.

,Part of the ‘solution’ to the problem is applying techniques that have worked in other high-consequence risk contexts like aviation, surgery and the military, to name a few. It involves simple ‘tools’ to help us apply the key risk / accident reduction points. This year’s talks are focused on the HAT Accident Reduction Framework. The framework approach serves as a great memory aid. It helps you apply the key accident reduction points. Everyone who attends will get a special Accident Reduction Framework Pack that includes a prevention and rescue memory card to reduce risk and manage crisis.
Building-up to the Tour, we also have free live 30 minute Webinars where Henry will be helping to answer the question “Is there a ‘no risk zone’ when going off-piste?”.
