Single Pitch Lead Climbing

This course is designed for those who have some gear placing and anchoring skills and are wanting to learn to lead sport and traditional climbs. The two day Single pitch Lead Climbing Course covers everything from proper belaying, to anchor building, to leading to getting off the cliff with all of your gear safely. And is a great way to learn basic leading skills to make your climbing days more plentiful and rewarding.
Topics covered:
- Belaying, lead and tope rope
- Climbing knots and hitches
- In depth review of gear placement and anchor evaluation
- Clipping the rope correctly and maintaining safe proper distance between lead protection.
- Mock leading on top rope while being assisted by an instructor for hands on practical learning
- Combining all learned skills into the full picture of what it takes to be able to lead in the single pitch environment.
