ZERMATT Feb 13-20, 2021

0 6
Switzerland’s best-known resort combines every mountain life cliche from its view of the Matterhorn to its narrow pedestrian streets. Surrounded by 38 summits all over 4000 meters, Zermatt is car-free and full of day and night life year-round. Zermatt itself has 200 kilometers of lift-served skiing and is also linked by lift and piste to Cervinia in Italy which offers another 160km. The world-famous gondola whisks skiers or sightseers up to the top of Klein Matterhorn at almost 4000m with panoramic views. Skiers at Zermatt enjoy dependable fantastic snow and high-altitude lift-served skiing, including Europe’s highest cable car station (3883m). There is no shortage of steep and long runs in this alpine paradise. Apres ski is an equally lively scene and strolling around the pedestrian town is a memorable part of this rich experience. The center of town is at once chic and rustic, with stylish couples rubbing shoulders with the hardiest of mountaineers. To round out the vibe, the old and rickety chalets lend a historic feel that is truly unmatched in mountain towns.
