Operations Updates
Thursday 19 March 2020
“Optimist: someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s more like a cha-cha.” Robert Brault
We are certainly doing the cha-cha. Alyeska closed end of day yesterday and Eaglecrest has announced they will be closing starting tomorrow, for the season.
Still holding out on later in April. As an FYI, we are only taking registrations for it for Northwest members.
Go outside, get some fresh air and know with the cha-cha we will be stepping both back and forth for a little while. Care for one another and watch here for more updates as we get them. And remember, wash your hands like you just got done slicing jalapenos for a batch of nachos and you need to take your contacts out.

Looking for a bit of levity in the moment. Alyeska, Schweitzer and Silver Mountain have closed for the season. We are processing refunds as quickly as possible for all events that have been, or are being, cancelled. We are also emailing you if you are one of the individuals.
We aren’t sure if the exam at Bachelor will run. As an FYI, we are only taking registrations for it for Northwest members.
Hoping for a small kidney stone.

The exam at Schweitzer is cancelled. Any and all refunds will promptly be processed, you do not need to phone us or contact us for the refund to occur. Any cancellations with registrations, we are also emailing those registered. Some of these decisions and processes are taking a little bit. Cancelling, postponing decisions or waiting for final determinations, isn’t to create any confusion or frustration, it’s to make the best possible decisions in the moment for the good of our members, staff and the communities we love. We are working diligently with our resorts and schools to keep the membership safe and updated. It’s unclear what April will look like, things continue to change by the hour. Currently we are working to reduce any unnecessary travel to partner with the US in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
We appreciate very much your understanding and patience through this.

Vail has announced it will close all its resorts for the season, this is Stevens Pass for us. All exam candidates registered for the exam at Stevens will be processed for full refunds this week.
Currently we are building out more remote Movement Analysis topics – we will update it here when those are available for registrations. This keeps us thinking about sliding on the snow, how we do it and can do it better and get us ready for when we can slide again. And yes, it includes continuing education opportunity.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we have been working with our partner resorts and schools in making responsible, reasonable, safe and prudent decisions based on the information available in the moment.
All additional information will continue to be updated on our website and, if needed, we will send out more broadcast email updates.
We will get through this. Open up some windows, take a walk with a paw-pal, get some sunshine. Helpful to the mind and soul. We are here for you and all in it together and stronger because of it.
