Roundup: Shenendehowa, Saratoga win alpine skiing crowns

The Shenendehowa alpine team took first place on the girls' side and Saratoga took the top spot on the boys' side Monday in the Section II championships.

Tyler Munter of Saratoga won the giant slalom in a time of 1:09.60 and Hunter Montgomery from Queensbury took the slalom title for the second consecutive year in 35.44 at Gore Mountain.

On the girls' side, Schuylerville-Greenwich's Hannah Klingebiel continued her sectional dominance for the second consecutive year by winning the giant slalom in 1:11.73 and also taking the shorter event in 31.81.

Melissa Taggert and Micaela Leonard finished second and third, respectively, in the giant slalom for the Plainsmen. Leonard also placed fourth in the slalom.
