Washington, D.C. — There’s just something in the water. That’s how many in the basketball community of the Washington, D.C., area – better known as the DMV – describe the area’s connection to the sport. The list of its greats could rival any city, any state, in the country. On the men’s side: Kevin Durant, Elgin Baylor, John Wall, Len Bias, Carmelo Anthony. On the women’s: Kristi Toliver, Angel Reese and Azzi Fudd. Those are just the highlights. There’s a lineage here.
